How much can I borrow?

Short answer · Yes

The bank derives the amount from your income: your total monthly loan payments should normally not exceed 40–50% of income. In practice that means an unsecured loan of up to 10–15 monthly incomes: roughly 10,000–15,000 AZN on a 1,000 AZN salary. Collateral or a guarantor raises the limit; existing loans lower it.

"Up to 50,000 AZN" in an advertisement is the product cap, not your limit. Your limit comes from three numbers: verifiable monthly income, existing obligations and the term you choose. A longer term lowers the payment and allows a larger amount on the same income, but increases total overpayment. Below is a simple rule to calculate it yourself.

What to watch for?

  • ✓ Rule of thumb: 40% of income times the term in months, divided by about 1.2, is a realistic cap for an unsecured loan.
  • ✓ Close unused credit card limits; the bank counts them as potential debt.
  • ✓ Adding a spouse's income as co-borrower almost doubles the limit.
  • ✓ Do not take the maximum: keeping the payment under 30% of income leaves room for surprises.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I borrow on a 1,000 AZN salary?

Roughly 10,000–12,000 AZN over 36 months, or 4,000–5,000 AZN over 12 months. An existing loan reduces the amount by its monthly payment.

How does the bank verify my income?

Official salary comes from ASAN Finance; extra income from card statements. Cash income not routed through a card is not counted.

How can I raise my limit?

Reduce existing debts, route income through a card, provide a guarantor or collateral, and strengthen your history with 6–12 months of on-time payments.
